About Us

Platinum Quartz is an Australian-based company with global reach, sourcing the best quartz-based stone from around the world. We pride ourselves on our exceptional quality products and industry knowledge, enabling us to bring to the residential home owner and the commercial designer alike, exceptional products of both style and substance.

About Our Stone

Our stone is made primarily of quartz, which is known to be one of nature’s hardest minerals. It has around 9 times the flexural strength of Marble, 4 times the flexural strength of Granite, 27 times less water absorbency than Marble, and 5 times less water absorbency than Granite*. Platinum Quartz contains 93% natural quartz, 7% combined bonding agent, special additives and pigments, making it an extremely hard wearing, ideal low maintenance, hygienic and highly versatile surface.

– Non-porous

– High Scratch & Chip Resistance

– High Abrasion Resistance

– High Resistance to Staining

– High Flexural Strength

– High Resistance to Acid

This makes Platinum Quartz an ideal choice for heavily utilised and moisture-exposed surfaces such as kitchen bench tops and bathroom vanity tops. However, our stone is not limited to these applications. In fact, Platinum Quartz has also been used for fireplaces, bath tub surrounds, breakfast bars, shelves, table tops, reception desks, bars, and of course chopping boards!

Platinum Quartz slabs come in the following sizes (mm): 3000 x 1400, 3000 x 1500, and 3200 x 1600, and are 20mm in thickness.

About The Installation Process

The fabrication and installation process of Platinum Quartz surfaces is carried out by independent stonemasons. Choosing the right stonemason for your project is crucial in getting not only the finish you want but also the customer service. We insist on a high quality fabrication and installation process for our stone, so we recommend you choose one of our selected stone installation specialists for your project.

Once you have selected your stonemason, visit their showroom to view samples and/or whole slabs. Viewing the whole slab gives a more accurate indication of what the final product will look like. Once you have selected your stone and provided the stonemason with the measurements for your project, they will provide you with a quote for supply and installation. Once you approve this quote, they will do a final more precise measure on site before fabrication of the stone. Be sure to ask about such things as placement of visible joins, edge profiles, edge thickness, and post-installation care/maintenance of your new stone.
